Gary Pound heads the technical team and is responsible for the design, manufacturing and allocation of all audio tour equipment, as well as installation and technical staffing. Under Gary’s leadership, Antenna’s technology has won numerous awards, including the 2005 Queen’s Award for Excellence. Before joining Antenna Audio in 2000, he was Managing Director of The British Ceramic Service Company, having served over 18 years in operations, production and sales and marketing. Gary has considerable international experience in all managerial disciplines, and has created subsidiary companies in Thailand and the United States from which multimillion-dollar contracts have ultimately been completed.
In her role as CFO, Joanne manages Antenna Audio’s financial reporting, the 3 year business plan, and, as a member of the Senior Management Team, contributes to Antenna’s overall business strategy. Joanne was seconded from Discovery Communications Europe in March 2008, appointed as the Group Financial Controller in May 2008, and promoted to the position of CFO of Antenna Audio in October 2008. Joanne joined Discovery Communications Europe in December 2006 and worked within FP&A (Financial Planning & Analysis) alongside Emerging Markets, Nordic, Central Europe, and Media Operations. Previously Joanne partnered Emerging Markets as the Finance Manager within EMEA Finance. Prior to joining Discovery Communications, Joanne worked with other blue-chip companies including T-Mobile, Virgin Retail, and GlaxoSmithKline. Joanne is a member of the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.
Brenda McLaughlin is responsible for managing Antenna Audio’s operations and development throughout the Americas. Before she joined Antenna Audio in June 2009 she has made a career in non-fiction publishing. Most recently, she launched a children’s publishing company that developed U.S. authors and translated award-winning European titles, publishing them both in print and as interactive e-books.
Prior to that, she was Executive Vice President at IDG Books Worldwide, where she directed the Dummies, Frommer’s (web and electronic), Cliffsnotes, and Webster’s New World business units, extending each brand into all media formats, including print, online, mobile, audio, broadcast, and even games. While at IDGB, she launched the Internet publishing division, directing the development of web sites, e-newsletters, online learning technology, an interactive Dummies reference, and a next generation Frommer’s travel guide for both the web and mobile. She built new media ventures with Ask Jeeves, Newsweek, and Travelocity, and ran a B2B division that created products for corporations such as Yahoo! Hewlett-Packard, Kelloggs, Siemens, and Sunkist.
Brenda holds a BA from Dartmouth College and an MA from the University of California, Berkeley.
Chris is responsible for the Account Management for Antenna Audio in Europe, Middle East and Asia. Prior to that, he was responsible for Antenna’s expansion into Asia, Eastern Europe, the Middle East, Israel and South Africa. Chris joined Antenna Audio as Head of Business Development for the UK in 2001 and doubled the number of clients. In 2004 he expanded his role to source and implement ‘best practice’ in business development across all of Antenna’s European operations. In 2005, Chris moved to the US, where he opened the company’s first permanent presence in Chicago. In 2006 he commenced the biggest expansion in Antenna Audio’s recent history, into Latin America (Brazil, Peru, Chile) and South East Asia (Bangkok and Singapore).
Nigel Gamble comes to us with over 20 years experience in production and production management in television and interactive/web/mobile. Most recently he has been business manager at a start up independent children's production company called Handle and Spout, which produces live-action series and animations.
Prior to that, Nigel worked in a several roles at the BBC over a period of 25 years. Most notably, he spent six years as head of production for the BBC Interactive Factual & Learning where he was responsible for producing and managing the digital media production for iTV, web and mobile content for all lifestyle and learning genres. Nigel also ran production and business operations for BBC jam, the BBC's online learning service and was Business Manager for BBC Scienceworld, BBC Science and other production units.
Alison Darren joined Antenna Audio in 2001 and is responsible for the delivery of operational and retail services at 80 sites across Europe, the Middle East and Asia. Since joining Antenna, Alison has applied her considerable management experience to overseeing the growth of Antenna Audio’s core business, which has generated an increase in revenue year after year. Alison has worked in the tourism, leisure and customer service industry for 25 years. She spent five years at one of Europe’s largest Arts Complexes - the Barbican Centre - before joining the London Film Theatre overseeing numerous international events, previews, conferences and festivals. This was followed by three years at Historic Royal Palaces managing visitor services at the Tower of London. Alison holds a degree in Film and Television, has published a book on cinema, and periodically gives talks and lectures on film.
