Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum – providing the perfect service

Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum and Tour Win GOLD Visit London Best Tourism Experience Award 2007 and BRONZE Visit London Accessible Tourism Award 2007

Wimbledon Lawn Tennis Museum and Tour continues its impressive winning streak as it secures the Gold Visit London Best Tourism Experience Award 2007 as well as the Bronze Visit London Accessible Tourism Award 2007 for the Museum. Officially recognised by Visit London for two consecutive years, the unique venue and collection has been awarded for its efforts in providing the most memorable experience as one of the top attractions in London.

Having previously been awarded the Bronze Visit London Large Visitor Attraction of the Year Award in 2006, WLTM continues to gain popularity as the world’s foremost tennis museum. WLTM combines state-of-the-art interactive touch screens with its unparalleled collection of traditional and contemporary tennis memorabilia, all exploring the story of the game and the Wimbledon Championships, from past to present, in a vibrant and entertaining way.

The award-winning Blue Badge Tour of the Museum and Wimbledon grounds is available in 11 languages, giving international visitors an in-depth look at Wimbledon and the delights of The Championships. The behind-the-scenes tour is currently available in English, Spanish, French, Italian, German, Japanese, Russian, Mandarin, Cantonese, Indonesian and Malay.

Visitors can enjoy views of London from the top of Aorangi Terrace (aka ‘Henman Hill’), see where Championships’ action happens on No.1 Court, explore the Millenium Building as well as visit the main Press Interview Room where the post-match interviews take place. Depending on the stage of the building improvements taking place on Centre Court, either Centre Court or the BBC Television Studio is also included.

To further enhance the Museum’s extensive collection, complementary audio guides bring exhibits to life and immerse visitors in a multi-sensory experience. Available in eight languages, visitors simply select their language of choice and a commentary navigates visitors through the Museum. The audio guides are also customised to focus on tennis in each country.

WLTM also offers deaf visitors a tour presented in sign language using the latest hand-held video technology. The palm-sized screen displays more than two hours of video in which three signing e-guides explain museum exhibits and highlights.
