The new tour is the first of its kind at the Alamo. Using advanced technology, music and sound effects to bring this historic site to life, visitors will be guided through this significant mission by an X-plorer™ hand-held player. The tour, which is narrated by a native Texan, will be approximately 50 minutes long and available to rent onsite. There will also be a CD sold in the gift shop, which will include bonus tracks not heard on the hand-held audio tour. With the availability of this self-guided tour, visitors will now be able to independently explore the Alamo while the tour tells the story of significant figures and historic battles.
The audio tour will be available starting May 19, 2008 for a price of $5.00 or for an extra $1.00, visitors are offered take-home ear buds with their players. To hear a clip from the audio tour, please visit the following web page: www.antennaaudio.com/TheAlamo
